Arson Awareness Week is May 1st – May 7th, 2011, the theme: “Working Together to Extinguish Serial Arson.” Winston-Salem Fire Department is partnering with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Emergency Management, Safe Communities/Safe Kids, Winston-Salem Police Department and Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office to hold an hour-long event on May 4th, 3:30 to 4:30, at William Roscoe Anderson Jr. Recreation Center (2450 Reynolds Park Rd.).
The Arson Awareness Event is open to the public and will be especially entertaining and educational for children. Shazam, Winston-Salem Fire Department’s Arson Dog, will be on site to meet the crowd. All participating public safety agencies will have educational materials available for the public.
