Join Old Salem’s staff as they learn to recognize severe weather patterns and report their findings to the National Weather Service. A SKYWARN class, also referred to as Weather Spotter class, is a valuable educational opportunity that trains citizens to become Weather Spotters. The National Weather Service often uses Weather Spotter observations to issue weather watches and warnings. Many businesses, governmental agencies, school systems, etc. utilize Weather Spotters on their Safety Teams. The ability to recognize and identify severe weather situations saves lives!
