Forsyth County HazMat Exercise Tests Regional Response Capabilities

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Emergency Management coordinated a regional emergency response exercise on Thursday, December 12th, 2013. The exercise focused on helping local, regional and state public safety agencies and responders better understand how they can respond to a large scale hazardous materials incident and other types of emergencies.

August Vernon, the Operations Officer for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Emergency Management, was recognized by NC’s 42nd Civil Support Team for his outstanding support and advocacy when it comes to integrated training in North Carolina and the Forsyth County area. August has coordinated several large training exercises involving multiple agencies and organizations, which included the NC National Guard and the 42nd Civil Support Team.
