Become trained in community emergency response, and be prepared to respond after a natural or “man-made” disaster strikes. Forsyth County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) graduates are trained to take care of themselves first and then help others in their communities for up to the first three days following incidents such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, winter storms, or man-made disasters. This training includes disaster preparedness, fire extinguisher use, emergency medical response, light search and rescue, and disaster psychology.
Register before February 11, 2011; the free training seminar meets February 18, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. and February 19-20 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Kernersville Fire Station #41, 316 West Bodenhamer St. in Kernersville, NC. Classes are limited to 25 participants.
