..INCREASED FIRE DANGER TODAY…
A STRONG UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL INCREASE WINDS ACROSS NORTH
CAROLINA TODAY. DRY AIR WILL PUSH INTO NORTH CAROLINA BEHIND THE
RECENT FRONT AND RELATIVE HUMIDITIES OF 25 TO 30 PERCENT ARE
EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON. WIND GUSTS OF 25 TO 30 MPH ARE
EXPECTED BY MID AFTERNOON. THIS WILL CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR
ADVERSE FIRE BEHAVIOR.
EXTRA CAUTION SHOULD BE EXERCISED WHEN CONDUCTING ANY OPEN BURNING.
ANY FIRES SHOULD BE CONTINUOUSLY SUPERVISED UNTIL THE FIRE AND
EMBERS ARE COMPLETELY OUT. PEOPLE ARE ADVISED TO PROPERLY
EXTINGUISH ANY SMOKING MATERIALS.
