Students from across Forsyth County are teaming up to help their communities become better prepared for emergencies and disasters. Their 2013 annual robotics project focuses on “Nature’s Fury”. What a great way to encourage younger and older generations to prepare for disasters!

The FIRST LEGO® League is a robotics program for 9 to 14 year olds, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology and teach them valuable employment and life skills. The 2013 “Nature’s Fury” Robot Run is October 26th at Atkins High School. Teams of approximately 10 students will program an autonomous robot (using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robot set) to score points on a thematic playing surface as well as create an innovative solution to a problem as part of their research project. Take a look at the website dedicated to the Robot Run and previous competitions.

We can’t reveal the individual team projects at this time. Stay tuned…..more details to come upon completion of the “Nature’s Fury” competitive projects.
